Drives out East No need to speak I’ll use these nights to pass the time My hearts been craving Disruptive changes I used to find in an Oklahoma sky but it’s July and I just can’t find my peace And you’re the body of relief that I seek Our words connect with perfect diction of promises we never seem to keep Or maybe that’s just me So put this car in drive or else I’ll never leave Harbors that gleam Highways of sleet Distracting me from a crumbling routine Fear on my breath Heart beating out my chest I'd only find in Wyoming over nights But it’s December and I can’t find my peace Short lived reunions are relief that I seek Our words connect with perfect diction of times we miss and always seem to need Or maybe that’s just me So put the car in drive or else I’ll never leave Surely it’s not just me Surely it’s all much harder than it seems I could pivot off and plant my feet, no Chasing the pace of payoffs in my heart still worth the wait And the world we claim Wants to watch you walk away

Waiting room, Couldn’t feel more numb Colors sway and move like a headspace gone In this disaster You watch the seconds fornicate ripping into moments we’d do anything to hold Now watch them disappear in a blink Changing and leaving Shameful feeling Invert the veins inside, study their every lie As the preachers pack their bags like they’re on borrowed time Embrace our shame when we leave And if it be You’ll lose me In a horrible display You can find me by the water or in places that you rest your head Waiting room waiting to play god One great step in a world that only wants to watch you fall apart You watch it all fade away Silence is gold, do exactly what they say. Changing and leaving Shameful feeling Invert the veins inside, study their every lie As the preachers pack their bags like they’re on borrowed time Embrace our shame when we leave And if it be You’ll lose me In a horrible display You can find me by the water or in places that you’d rest your head in the wait, with all the time to think Of farewells and final words Dropping boxes in the dirt As I stare At all the time I never had

Few live Don’t you know wanna live like we do I know you do Be freed From bottle episodic redos Don’t let this world kick you around My mid-twenties planting fear and doubt If we take it in stride we can figure it out And commit to every hope you could possibly conceive This life’s long so enjoy yourself Not slaving away for another man’s clout I'd rather die than leave a single corner of this unseen, unturned, unheard Sacrificial pact, it’s our curse Devolving life’s calling Funerals proceeding every day, even in the rain I’m finding this timing’s unapologetic, testing me Do I concede? Time lost Days go on and on and on without me This living on repeat, It can’t be finality

Perfect timing to address the public That’s empathetic, thoughtful, and profound Thank you for your open letter hot takes When the lights turn on, we know you’ll be around Attention spans inches not feet Clever, deceptive Convincing they processed the message And proudly take their bows center stage Repent for what you’ve done Like you’re born again Relieving the heat from your chest Your records spin till the grooves too thin Throwing your voice like a whisper in the wind Strung out chaperones overseeing what fits and what hits Lust goes sliding by in plain sight I can see the sweat drip, you watch them fuck like dogs, but you’d never want to tag in Salivating, peeking through the door It’s all how the narrative gleams Publicists spreading the message Ensuring you meant it Curtain comes flying up , they scream your name Wrought performance, give em hell The stage is yours if you had guts to spill And I'm the whore for every hanging word you fuck me blind with how you see our world You’re right, I’m wrong I should’ve spoken up, screamed so loud my tonsils rot Righteous little criers crush their lungs Your records spin but do you every really listen in?
